World Singing Day is about uniting the world through singing. It was founded on the conviction that if enough people share a positive, human experience — like singing — that something quite remarkable can happen.
Unlike politics, religion and differing beliefs, music has the unique power to inspire and bring people together from around the world.
World Singing Day is not a singing competition but rather a celebration of participation. It's the singing event for everyone, singers and non singers alike.
The goal in 2014 is to have over 1 million people singing the same song on the same day in all 196 countries. World Singing Day is offering grants — from $500 to $5,000 — to be awarded to choirs, schools and nonprofits who come up with the most creative and impactful videos showing people connecting with one another through singing.
