SHABOLOMBI (SELF-RELAINT)

BACKGROUND: SHABOLOMBI is a local development and human rights organization, initiated in October 1992 with the initiatives of a group of committed social development and human rights workers. It believes in people centered sustainable development approach. So, SHABOLOMBI prioritizes and responds the development needs of the time and poorer section of the community people. It aims to empower rural poor to restore their rights and takeover the responsibilities of self-reliance and self-development. The core concerns of the development strategies of SHABOLOMBI are effective participation of the poor, gender equality, restoration of social justices, access to health and other social services, sustainable and productive natural resource management, environmental protection and regeneration.

Vision: SHABOLOMBI envisions the harmonized society in Bangladesh, where people enjoy equal rights and opportunities irrespective of gender, class, cast and creed, economically productive and equitable, environmentally sound and truly democratic.

Mission: The mission of SHABOLOMBI is to create participatory sustainable development process for social structural change through empowerment of the poor spectrum providing need based development support and services for their holistic development.

Goal: To bring a positive change in the lifestyle of the beneficiaries on expedited the self-reliant process increasing their capabilities and capacities to mobilize and manage resources in order to establish poverty free, justly, and democratic society and sustainable development. Shabolombi on going Project's/Program's are: 01. Health Rights, 02. Tax Justice in district level, 03. Women, Child & person with disable Rights, 04. Online Newspaper Narail Kantho dot com, 05. Human Rights Mobilization. 06. Tobacco free campaign, 07. Local Right base Social issues, 08. ICT trairining, 09. Open Budget Campaign etc programs/ activities are without direct foreign or any donor's funds.
