Pencils For Progress

Pencils For Progress is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aims to mitigate the educational challenges faced in classrooms! By donating supplies and raising funds for teachers and students, we hope to fill both backpacks and hearts every school year.

Pencils For Progress mitigates these challenges by directly collaborating with faculty leaders from schools to identify needs and coordinate delivery schedules. Unlike many organizations, P4P ensures that supplies are not only provided, but also delivered personally—often with the support of a professional courier service covering Central Texas—allowing students to witness youth leadership in action and inspiring the next generation to get involved. This hands-on approach strengthens the organization’s connection with schools, faculty, and students, ensuring that every donation has a tangible impact.

Since its founding, P4P has expanded to multiple chapters across different communities, supported over 50,000 students and thousands of staff members, and worked with numerous schools across Bexar County. The organization has raised tens of thousands of dollars for its mission and partnered with Fortune 500 companies to amplify its reach and resources. This combination of scale, direct engagement, and strategic partnerships positions Pencils For Progress as one of the largest and most influential high school student-led nonprofits in the country.
