Sobre Nós

The International Women's Democracy Center is a non-profit organization established to strengthen women's global leadership through training, education, networking and research with a focus on increasing the participation of women in the politics, policy and decision making arena within their own governments. IWDC partners with NGOs around the world to carry out all of its programs and projects. The hallmark of our success is in our partnerships with NGOs and utilizing the participatory training methodology to train women in the technical skills of how to run for elected office, how to manage a campaign, and how to advocate for issues central to their communities. IWDC does not work with political parties or government institutions as women seldom hold leadership positions in either place. In addition, IWDC trains elected women leaders in legislative development, constituent services and policy analysis. In 2002, IWDC will begin the Pipeline Project designed to train young women leaders ages 18-30 in the technical skills of how to get politically engaged in their communities.
