Backside Learning Center

The Backside Learning Center provides free educational services to the men and women who work with the thoroughberd horses in the barn area, or backside, of Churchill Downs and Trackside in Louisville, KY. Our programming includes English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL), technology workshops, citizenship tutoring, art class, and music class. All of our classes & tutoring depend on volunteers. Note: BLC hours are between 9:00 am-8:00 pm Monday thru Friday. Days, times and frequency of direct service will fall between these hours but will depend upon the work schedule and availability of students and volunteers.
