Richmond Interfaith Sponsoring Committee (RISC)

RISC is a non-profit, congregation-based, grassroots community organization committed to democratic principles and values of justice and fairness. On any given day, state and city officials along with corporate CEO’s make decisions that affect the lives of hundreds of thousands of people living in Richmond. RISC is striving to build a powerful organization among low-income people, so that they too can have a seat at the bargaining table when these decisions are made. RISC will be working with the DART Network of organizations, which has fought and won across the country on a broad set of issues like racial profiling, joblessness, crime & drugs, inequitable public education, quality affordable housing, etc.
