Vita Centre is a non-profit agency that runs several programs in Peel Region for parenting youth. Vita Manor is our residential program and is the only Maternity Home in all of Peel Region. Teen pregnancy has been identified as an important public health issue. This group is at higher risk for low birth weight and pre-term babies. The lack of support, parenting skills, loss of educational and/or employment opportunities have both short and long term affects on the health and well-being of both mother and child, and ultimately, our community. Vita Centre takes leadership in promoting awareness and understanding of the impact of unplanned pregnancy on teens, their children and the community.
