The New Teacher Project - Louisiana Practitioner Teacher Program

The New Teacher Project (TNTP) (www.tntp.org) is a national nonprofit dedicated to closing the achievement gap. TNTP provides school districts and states with a range of services, all of which are designed to increase the concentration of highly effective teachers in high-need schools.

In Louisiana, TNTP has established the Louisiana Practitioner Teacher Program (LPTP), aimed to create an alternate certification process that is based on hands-on training and a teacher's effectiveness in the classroom as opposed to traditional required coursework.
