AfriCana Village & Museum, a proposed non-profit social enterprise initiative created to develop an African -Canadian Heritage Tourism Village complex on government owned land onToronto's Waterfront. This proposed social enterprise will showcase the untold story of 400 years of African presence in Canada better known as the "Great White North.". AfriCana Village will create 1500-2000 jobs for the most marginalized and discriminated against group in Canada. It seeks to leverage the only natural resource African Canadians posesses and that is its culture and history of the "Underground Railroad" to create jobs and "economically empower "African - Canadians, primarily in the Toronto region where the unemployment rate for African-Caribbean Canadians is a scandalous and unbelievable 40-70% , with contnental Africans experiencing the worse of it with near 70%. AfriCana Village seeks to create an "economic engine" and "wealth generator" for a community in desperate straits.
