RAIN Oklahoma

A non-profit organization serving low-income individuals with chronic health conditions. One to two agencies in OKC serving Ryan White eligible HIV/AIDS client population in order to access assistance for medications, insurance premium and copay assistance, and home health care. Case Management services provide linkage to state programs in conjunction with commuity assistance with the ultimate goal of shoring up our clients' life foundations; especially those at highest risk for going homeless or those whom are already there. Through a HUD grant. RAIN operates two transitional housing dwellings, a total of 7 slots, for persons with HIV/AIDS who are homeless and wanting to enter in or continue their infectious disease care. HIV testing is free, Monday through Friday with trained counselors that can answer questions, advise, and direct newly positive individuals to the best care possible to meet their medical or mental health needs. Trained educators are available upon request to speak at schools, community events, or any forum presented. Condoms are always free at RAIN. Volunteer services offer an opportunity for the general public to serve the HIV/AIDS community in many ways. The "Teams" project provides support for individuals with HIV/AIDS to have their own support group made up of volunteers who act like a family unit to keep their person independent and out of long term care. RAIN also has a Medicaid Case Management program for individuals with any chronic condition. If someone meets the criteria, they are eligible for services to keep them independent and out of a nursing facility.
