OUR MISSION
We raise awareness and initiate Compassionate Action for captive and endangered elephants around the world, while creating new opportunities for the people whose lives are intertwined with them. To do this, we work with individuals, organizations and community groups to:
- Raise awareness and initiate action for the welfare of captive and abused elephants in temples, circuses, zoos, and tourism
- Support the welfare and rescue of individual captive animals held in inhumane conditions
- Expose phajaan, and similar cruel methods used to break and train elephants
- Support sustainable and humane tourism
- Implement compassionate care for temple elephants
- Assist in protection and revitalization of endangered elephant habitat
- Educate the public about the complexities of making compassionate choices for captive elephants and mahouts
- Help create additional socio-economic benefits for the communities, farms, and schools within the escalating human-elephant conflict zones
- Support and promote local initiatives which provide education and assistance for traditional elephant villages and the people that live in and near them
