The mission of the Sankofa Institute for Youth Development is to provide the young people of Union City, N.J. with tools to make change and become productive citizens in their local and global communities.
Sankofa is dedicated to motivating and supporting youth in becoming globally conscious, socially aware, confident, and highly dedicated young adults who strive to make the world a better place.
Our focuses are college preparation, Latin American history/culture, global awareness/social justice, self empowerment, and community service.
