Walker Area Community Foundation

The mission of the Walker Area Community Foundation is to build an endowment that will forever help support the charitable needs of our community. To fulfill this mission, we are committed to: · Serving the Walker area with creative, visionary and sensitive grants that address the evolving needs of our nonprofit organizations · Devoting special emphasis to programs that enrich the community in the following distinct areas: Arts and Humanities, Children and Youth, Education, Elder Care, Environment, Health & Medicine, Recreation, Social Welfare · Advising donors in the areas of their particular concerns and assisting them in achieving the highest likelihood of beneficial results · Leveraging and multiplying local charity with outside sources of assistance · Demonstrating community leadership by providing seed funding for the initiation of new, innovative, or missing services and aspects of a healthy, whole, and fulfilling community
