Refugee Connections
Spokane is defined by its programs such as the Refugee Harvest Project where
Refugee volunteers harvest and donate thousands of pounds of fresh produce,
cost-free, to families of Spokane. The Law & Justice Workshops is a program
where refugees learn from attorneys, judges, police and others about the U.S.
legal system and their legal rights and responsibilities. Also Refugee Connections
has an Elder Outreach Program that focuses on engaging isolated refugee elders
in the community through field trips, workshops, potlucks and other social
activities. And finally our Patient Passport program is about providing
refugees with translated record booklets that help medical providers and
refugees with intake and service delivery. We facility many cultural exchange
gatherings that bring together refugees with other community members.
