Strength for the Journey, DR Inc.

Strength for the Journey's mission is to break down barriers and create capabilities for the impoverished in the Dominican Republic by providing a safe environment to learn, grow, belong, and change life's course. Located in the mountainous area of Jamao al Norte, the Strength for the Journey learning center offers a menu of enrichment courses, including English, art, technology education, story hour, karate, guitar, bongo, and educational games, all at no cost to the 130 enrolled participants. All uniforms and learning materials are also provided gratis. During summer months, the organization hosts camps whereby children travel throughout the country to learn and record history and to experience adventures such as kayaking and horseback riding. Additionally, Strength for the Journey, DR supports community education through the donation of computers and laptops and other educational items.
