Sobre Nós

In 1981 Ann Turner M.D and Catherine Bax, a nurse practitioner, founded Clinica San Pedro, a small storefront clinic, in order to serve the growing population of uninsured and underinsured people living in South Los Angeles. In 2002 their clinic was renamed South Central Family Health Center (SCFHC) and became a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to providing quality health services to the some of the most vulnerable people in Los Angeles. Today we run seven sites, and proudly serve 19 thousands patients across South Los Angeles. We work every day to activate the energy for change in South Los Angeles, not only by providing much needed health services and education but also by hiring within our community.

South Central Family Health Center's mission is to improve the quality of life for the diverse communities of South Los Angeles and Southeast Los Angeles County by providing affordable and comprehensive health care and education in a welcoming and multi-cultural environment. It is our goal to lead the way in health care in South Los Angeles, as the premier provider and employer by offering comprehensive, high quality, affordable, efficient and culturally responsive services.
