Advance New York exists to promote intelligent, efficient, good government to improve citizen health, safety, and well-being.

Advance New York is built on the idea that good, sensible policy making deserves the same type of robust advocacy that special interest groups place on legislators for their favorite pet projects. Unlike your typical lobbying group, Advance New York has no vested economic interest in legislative outcomes. We are concerned with promoting the common good, and are focused on drafting well-written model bills and amendments to help state and local legislators improve the health, safety, and well-being of their constituents.

Our aim is for New York to become a model for intelligent policy making. Of particular interest to Advance New York is bridging the gap between social research and legislative action, and in furtherance thereof we vigorously promote evidence-based policy making. We believe that many of our problems can be addressed by adopting policies already proven to work.
