  • Sobre Nós

At Camp Hendon we give children with diabetes a life changing experience that empowers them to take control of their journey with diabetes. We achieve this mission through two separate week-long residential camping sessions for approximately 200 children with diabetes between the ages of 8-17.

The focus is on fun, but the lessons learned are critical to long-term success. Camp is a child-friendly atmosphere where healthy habits are reflected by adult role models, most of whom are also living with diabetes. During one week in the summer, each camper discovers that they aren’t the only one in the world who has to prick their fingers, test their blood sugar, and count their carbs. All of our camp staff are volunteers, and we rely on donations from companies for medical and treatment supplies.
