EDUCATION FOR PURPOSE

Education for Purpose is a non-profit organization dedicated to help maintain lower socioeconomic students' competitiveness by enhancing access to high quality education. We aspire to assist students from educationally underserved communities learn and achieve so they can develop the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in school by offering various extracurricular activities and support to students.

Our primary goal is to help students from all backgrounds succeed in school and help them pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education and careers. We are trying to accomplish this through:

• Partnering with schools, libraries, and other non-profits to provide technology opportunities
• Providing enrichment activities for underprivileged youth
• Mentorship opportunities
• College preparation and admission advice, especially within STEM fields
• Test preparation for high school students
• Parental education

Why?

Education For Purpose was founded with belief that all students can learn and achieve given the right opportunities. We want to help those who are determined to learn so that they can attain a better life for themselves and for their families, and in so doing we hope to play some small part in solving education inequality in the US.

Our practices are guided by 6 core principles:

1. Education opportunity is a fundamental human right
2. Education has the power to transform and enrich lives
3. Education inequality is preventable; the problems it causes may not be
4. Every individual, regardless of the circumstances of their birth or upbringing, should have an equal opportunity to grow
5. Every individual, given the right circumstances and opportunities, can do extraordinary things
6. Those who have been given opportunities should create opportunities for others
