Borrego Springs, CA, an
unincorporated area of northeast
San Diego County, has a
long and colorful
history. The village of Borrego
Springs is uniquely surrounded and protected by the amazing 600,000 acre
Anza-Borrego
Desert State Park®. Here in San Diego
county's only desert community, the nearest stoplight is fifty miles
away. Borrego Springs is California's first
Dark Sky Community. There are no big box or chain stores. The
slower, uncomplicated pace, the scenic beauty and the human scale of Borrego
combine to produce a rustic, authentic desert experience, a special place, in
all seasons. It has been a favorite of
filmmakers since the 1920’s. Visitors and students come here for paleontology,
geology, and archeology study. California State University at Irvine has a
graduate research study center here.
The Borrego Springs Chamber
and Visitors Bureau (Chamber/CVB) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit membership
organization that represents private enterprise and community members
interested in the economic health and vitality of the village. They also
produce “Borrego Days”, an annual late October festival that attracts over 20,000
people to the area
