Altadena Recovery Team

The Altadena Recovery Team is committed to addressing the urgent and long-term needs of individuals and families impacted by the Eaton Fire and other natural disasters, with a specific focus on supporting vulnerable communities in Los Angeles County. Our mission is to create a space where neighbors support one another, resources are shared, and community bonds grow stronger. We recognize that disaster recovery is not just about rebuilding homes, but about restoring hope, unity, and economic stability for those most affected.

Our founding members—four Black women raised in the Altadena and Pasadena areas—have deep ties to this community and firsthand experience with the challenges faced by its residents. Many of those affected by the Eaton Fire were financially stable before the disaster but lost nearly everything, placing them in a precarious position. Displacement, loss of housing, and the financial strain of rebuilding have significantly impacted their ability to recover. Through our initiatives, we aim to bridge the gap between emergency relief and long-term recovery, ensuring that those affected receive the support they need to rebuild their lives.
