Travelers Aid Family Services of Philadelphia

Travelers Aid Family Services of Philadelphia was founded in the early 1900s to help immigrant families and individuals settle in the city. Our mission has widened over the years. In the 1990s we started to provide additional services to meet the ever changing needs of the community, in particular, the homeless. We developed an integrated approach to homeless families that serves over 150 households each night.

TAFSP programs and services include an emergency family residence that houses approximately 75 families at a time, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing. We also operate a Department of Public Welfare certified Out-of-School-Time program for the children served by our organization.
