Established in 2008, Maverick Capital Foundation (MCF) is a private foundation working to break the cycle of poverty and to encourage active, informed philanthropy among employees at the firm. Currently, MCF funds nearly 60 organizations between its 4 regions in Dallas, New York City, Philadelphia and San Francisco. The Foundation’s board consists primarily of professionals who have previously been or currently are affiliated with Maverick Capital. Board members not only commit their personal financial resources to the Foundation, but are also actively engaged in the grant making process.


Since its inception, MCF has provided $30 million in financial resources and technical assistance to high-performing community based organizations supporting individuals and families in low income communities. MCF’s current grant making is concentrated in the areas of Criminal Justice, Education, Employment, and Survival.
