Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona

Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona, founded in 1993, brings therapeutic arts to abused, homeless and at-risk youth ages 3-19 that live in over 35 partner social service organizations with more than 100 sites (residential treatment centers, group homes and homeless shelters) throughout Maricopa County, at no charge to the agencies. The mission of Free Arts is to heal homeless and abused children through artistic expression.  Our core values are:

1)      Art Heals – the creative arts have the ability to inspire and transform lives.

2)      Every Child Matters – all children have the right to be cared for and respected emotionally, physically and intellectually.

3)      Mentoring Works – all children have the right to safe and trusting relationships with caring adults.

 Free Arts offers four main programs to more than 7,000 youth each year. Programs are provided free of charge to participants and partnering agencies.
