YouthBeat provides free digital media training to OAKLAND kids. Our mission is to help underserved Oakland youth achieve their dreams and succeed– in school, career, and life.

YouthBeat is an Oakland-based nonprofit dedicated to educating, empowering, and employing young people through free digital media training, mentorship, and paid work experience. We believe every young person deserves access to high-quality creative education and meaningful career pathways, regardless of their background or financial circumstances.

Through hands-on programs in filmmaking, photography, animation, journalism, and design, students develop technical skills, confidence, leadership, and professional experience while amplifying their own voices and stories. Our social enterprise, YouthBeat PRO, extends this mission by providing advanced students and alumni with paid opportunities to produce media for nonprofit, public, and community clients.
