Susan G. Komen Nevada

Susan G. Komen® Nevada is one of 65 U.S. and 2 international Affiliates dedicated to combating breast cancer at every front. Our service area encompasses the 17 counties in the state of Nevada.

With a local staff of 5 and a volunteer base of more than 400 community members, Komen Nevada is committed to fulfilling the Susan G. Komen® Mission Statement: to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.

While perhaps best known for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® – our affiliate is engaged in year-round activities that help us fulfill the Komen Promise on a daily basis:

• advocating for universal access to screening and treatment
• providing breast health education and community outreach
• serving as a resource for survivors and co-survivors
• funding life-saving education, screening and treatment programs in southern and northern Nevada

We are proud that up to 75 percent of our net income stays in Nevada to fund vital mission programs, while 25 percent supports the internationally recognized Komen Award and Research Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.

Creating a world without breast cancer is a big job, and not one that can be done alone. Komen Nevada thanks all of our dedicated volunteers, sponsors, donors, event participants and other community partners for helping us play such a crucial role in our community.
