Grannies Respond/Abuelas Responden, Inc.

Grannies Respond formed in response to the separation of children at the southern border in the summer of 2018. A caravan of 30 started out from Beacon, NY and arrived at the border 200 strong as people around the country joined our caravan. We learned the needs of nonprofits at the border and many of those on the caravan returned to their states and formed groups to assist asylum-seekers traveling from the border across the country. We have been assisting those in need since then. Impacted by the pandemic and many changes in border policies, we have tuned our focus to those asylum seekers settling in our areas as well as those traveling. We are in 14 states and are part of a beautiful web of helpers across the country.

We are a 100% volunteer not-for-profit 501(c)3 charitable organizatioon.
