The Legal Aid Society, Criminal Appeals Bureau

The Legal Aid Society's Criminal Practice is the largest public defender program in the country and serves as the primary provider of indigent defense services in New York City. The Criminal Appeals Bureau (CAB) assists indigent defendant-appellants challenging their convictions on direct appeal, as well as providing a variety of other post-conviction services.
