9carrots is a grass roots movement set up to enable the public to tackle climate change while shopping.
Consumers consult the 9carrots website to find local businesses which have signed up to the 9carrots scheme. These businesses have pledged to take steps towards becoming more environmentally sustainable. Specifically, 10p in every £1 spent by the consumer in the businesses is put towards a specific energy-efficiency project e.g. a new fridge or electric van.
