To assist persons affected by mental illness in their adjustment to independent living in the community, and provide for friendship and mutual support though the format of a club organization. To bring organizations of the community into social contact with the Forteniters, in order to create understanding of these affected by mental illness, and to enlist volunteers to assist in the Club program, both financially and through personal service The Club meets once a week to share a dinner and to socialize. The emphasis of the club is to create a safe place for members to gather and enjoy each others company and support. The club is fully funded by private donors. Transportation to and from club meetings is provided by vans which the club sponsors.
