Silver Spring & Takoma Park Mutual Aid

Silver Spring & Takoma Park Mutual Aid was formed as a collective of local volunteers at the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 to help respond to the basic needs in our local community. We are seeking community members who are interested in volunteering to continue addressing the needs of our neighbors and to join our growing community.

Mutual aid is interdependence. Neighbors take responsibility in caring for one another by sharing resources and time to keep each other safe and healthy. It is solidarity, not charity. No one is left out. There are no conditions for receiving support from one another. Our group of volunteers meet monthly to coordinate our efforts and make decisions collectively.
