    About the Organization

The Coalition on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (C-AGG) is a multi-stakeholder coalition fostering a fact-based discourse on the development and adoption of voluntary incentives to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the agricultural sector. C-AGG participants and stakeholders include agricultural producers and producer groups, scientists, environmental NGOs, carbon market developers, methodology experts, investors, and other proponents of voluntary agricultural GHG mitigation opportunities and benefits.

C-AGG seeks to improve collaboration and agreement on priorities, policies, and programs to develop incentive-based, realistic, cost-effective greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation opportunities for the agricultural sector at a scale that matters. Agricultural GHG mitigation activities often correspond with environmental and economic impacts for the sector and for society, and significant overlaps exist between GHG mitigation and carbon markets opportunities and other ecosystem service markets, such as water quality markets. Increasingly, this symbiosis is being recognized by stakeholders in various ecosystem service markets, and collaboration between GHG mitigation and other related markets is increasing. Additionally, C-AGG has been expanding its focus from domestic, US GHG mitigation opportunities, policies and programs and working to establish enhanced international collaboration in these areas in select countries, including (initially) Brazil and China.
