MISSION:DEVELOPING ARTISTS IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROVIDING STUDENTS FROM CULTURALLY AND SOCIOECONOMICALLY DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PROCLAIM THEMSELVES AS ARTISTS.WHO ARE WE:DEVELOPING ARTISTS, a nonprofit organization that has been helping young people find THEIR place and THEIR connection to THEIR community through participation in the arts since 1999.

WHAT WE DO:DEVELOPING ARTISTS is particularly committed to engaging with young people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds and has a proven track record of engaging positively with those who face significant barriers in their daily lives.

THE CHALLENGE:NYC’s art programs continue to face annual cuts, and these reductions in funding leave many young people with no/limited access to the arts education they could so deservedly benefit from. As adults, we know getting through the pressures of today's society is never easy, but for a young person without any outlet for expression, development is impossible.

SOLUTION:We all know how important it is to provide opportunities for teens to have a creative forum to help navigate life's increasing challenges. They need to find their voice to deal with issues like rage, fear or frustration and channel that energy into self-expression and self-confidence.
