Future Roots Inc (dublab)

Founded in 1999, dublab is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit internet radio station and creative platform dedicated to advancing music, art, and culture through independent broadcasting, artist commissions, public programs, and education.

dublab is a pioneer in internet radio and an internationally recognized space for audio experimentation, artist development, and cultural exchange. It is a multidimensional cultural platform presenting more than 200 recurring radio shows by musicians, artists, DJs, journalists, and cultural producers.

At the center of this work is dublab’s University Park headquarters and studio, a hybrid production and learning environment open every day, where creators gain hands-on access to digital media technologies. This studio is where dublab hosts and produces its programming and where the next generation of creators hone their craft. Additionally, dublab produces and presents hundreds of events annually, from live performances and festivals, to multimedia artist exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. We collaborate with everyone from grassroots community groups to Los Angeles' most significant cultural institutions, including The Getty Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Music Center, and the Los Angeles Public Library.

At dublab, we believe that access to creative infrastructure should not be determined by geography, income, ability, or identity. Our space is welcoming, accessible, and adaptable, and we bring professional-grade audio and broadcast capacity directly to communities across Los Angeles County. Our broadcast and digital archive ensure that culture remains freely accessible to anyone with an internet connection.
