High Himalayan Community Project Nepal

To empower and help to overcome poverty in marginalized communities by building sustainable locally driven programs that will improve the quality of life through advancing education, health and sanitation and innovative projects. High Himalayan Community Project Nepal is also contributing to sustainable environmental management to improve livelihoods, increase economic security and income opportunities for the rural poor.

Education that is relevant and purposeful has the power to transform people’s lives, similarly, awareness and education is the most powerful way to drive behavioral change. This education is also vital to the task of acquiring the capacity to live together peacefully and respect differences and diversities, and further build social tolerance.

We have the local knowledge and always listen to the voices of the target communities and we use our resources to train and mobilize these communities to achieve their goals. All our projects are performed according to these major needs, that is why we say “small projects, big results and one village at once.”

Organize an event for Nepal

Maybe you’d like to help High Himalayan Community Projects Nepal but not quite sure how to do it?

How about organising an event???

This event could be a fundraising event, getting a group of friends together to assemble hygiene/sanitation kits, organising or participating in a charity trek in Nepal, a fund run, the list of ideas is endless ……..

Laurie-Rose Patison of Australia organised a fund run and asked donors to sponsor for every km she ran. Laurie raised over $1,000 which she donated to the PHC Jibajibe Hospital for furnishings.

Chris Patison of Australia organised a “dress-up trekkers” 11 day Langtang Nepal trek for charity in April 2015 and donated the proceeds to two worthy projects, Jibajibe Hospital X-ray machine and Jibajibe High School learning/resource room.

Trek for charity to Nepal

If you want to have an even more meaningful trip in Nepal and not only take in the spectacular sights but also want to help its people prosper, then charity trekking is for you!!

Charity trek helps you to connect with people and projects that matter and you get to see exactly where your donation is going!!

You can direct your donation to your favoured option:

• remote Hospital equipment/supplies
• remote school equipment/resources
• purchase resources for a remote library
• give gifts that grow and purchase pigs or goats for poor families
• supporting health and sanitation projects
• sponsoring a child’s education

You can trek in whatever region you wish and can visit our current project sites like the schools, hospitals, and personally meet the families that we support.

If you chose to do a charity trek, it involves fundraising at home and then departing on your trip to Nepal to see the communities you will be helping.

The High Himalayan Community Projects Nepal charity is completely volunteer run and shares an office with High Himalayan Trekking and Expedition Company so there are no overhead costs whatsoever. We can promise you that 100% of the money you donate goes directly to rural communities in Nepal.

Adopt a school to support Nepal

Are you interested in cross-cultural learning whilst teaching students the art of “caring for others less fortunate”?

Maybe your school or centre of learning should think about “adopting a HHCP Nepal school”?

In 2011 HHCP Nepal put out a call to donors to purchase school uniforms for the students of Betang Primary School. This newly opened school had students attending although the families could not afford to purchase uniforms. Dorothy Waide, Centre for Early Learning Griffith, Australia came to the rescue and have since formed a further alliance with this remote Nepali school.

Letters, information and pictures have been traded and the children love learning about each others cultures. At the end of 2014, Stephanie Wardle, an employee of Dorothy Waide, visited this remote Nepali school personally. Not only did she spend some incredible time with these adopted school students, but she also engaged them in a dental hygiene program donating dental supplies to all. Stephanie brought many educational supplies, clothing donations and gifts that have been donated by her children in Australia. She and her family were received at Betang School with a very warm welcome!!
