OCRRA , or the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency, was created by the New York State Legislature to manage the solid waste (trash and recyclables) generated in the county.
OCRRA has implemented an aggressive series of programs promoting waste reduction and the recycling of those discards where markets exist to create new products.Thanks to the people of Onondaga County, the community has a very high participation rate.
OCRRA administers the local recycling law, operates two yard waste compost sites, provides a program for household hazardous waste drop-offs and connects residents with information to dispose of waste that cannot be left at the curbside.
