Alwan promotes arts and cultures of Iran and the Arab world. Run entirely by volunteers, it works and hosts events in a space in downtown Manhattan. While Alwan is in the process of applying for its 5O1c3 (U.S. nonprofit status), it currently operates under fiscal sponsorship of the non-profit organization, the Brecht Forum, in New York City.
