Urban Justice Center - Human Rights Project

Sobre Nós

HRP is a project of the Urban Justice Center, a non-profit that serves New York City's most vulnerable residents through a combination of direct legal service, systemic advocacy, community education and political organizing. UJC is composed of ten distinct Projects, with a unique organizational structure intended to foster creativity, excellence and meaningful results. The Human Rights Project (HRP) at the Urban Justice Center promotes domestic compliance with universally accepted human rights standards. Our mission is to improve the lives of people living in poverty, while emphasizing the leadership of women and people of color.

Our program strategies are to:

  • educate the public about our government's role in advancing or restricting human rights;
  • equip advocates with human rights tools, models and networks;
  • inspire a new community conversation about our political imagination through cultural work and thought leadership; and
  • develop and share models for using a human rights frame in policy analysis.
