Memphis Irish Society

The Memphis Irish Society aims to promote education in and practice of authentic Irish culture, cultivate cohesion within the local Irish community, and engage in charitable giving in the Memphis area. We serve all interested in Irish culture and community without regard to ethnic or national origins or blood quantum. To belong, you need not have Ireland in your blood, just Ireland in your heart. We place particular emphasis on teaching the indigenous language of Ireland and on cultivating camaraderie within the Memphis Irish community. Our organization is expressly non-religious and apolitical. We oppose all forms extremism and denounce racism, sexism, prejudice, and discrimination. Although we are currently a very small organization, our goals are ambitious and we draw inspiration from the JCC movement.
