Social Justice Leadership (SJL)

The mission of Social Justice Leadership (SJL) is to develop a new generation of social justice leaders and organizations with the skills, analysis, and competence to lead a renewed social justice movement. We provide grassroots organizations led by those most affected by injustice – poor and working class people, people of color, and other disenfranchised communities – with leadership training, organizational development, and assistance in building multi-organization collaborations. We aspire to create a new model of social justice organization that is committed to values-driven and reflective practice, a culture of organizational performance that is ambitious and uncompromising on results, and a perspective on movement-building that is strategic and long-term in its outlook. We believe that such organizations can transform people, the material conditions in which they live, and ultimately the structure of society.
