Frances Pope Memorial Foundation

Sobre Nós

The Frances Pope Memorial Foundation is a not-for-profit organization whose primary mission is to assist families caring for a child with cancer by helping to pay some of the expenses NOT covered by insurance. Since its inception, the Foundation has assisted countless families in their ordeal of caring for a seriously ill child. The assistance provided has taken on a variety of forms, always with the aim of responding to the unique needs of each individual family.

We also support the Andrew Baeumler Technology Program. A program we seeded in 1999 and have supported in partnership with The Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital for 14 years. Children and adolescents in isolation, benefit greatly from the ability to “bring the world into their isolation room”. For patients of all ages, this bridge to the world beyond their medically isolated environment fosters their individuality, stimulates their mind and encourages connections to their family, as well as to old and new friends.

In addition, we provide partial salary support to the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department at NYU Langone Medical Center in order to keep a full time Fellow on their staff. This Fellowship Program is vital to training new doctors to become expert in the care of children with cancer and blood disorders and to seek new methods of combating these illnesses.
