Launched in 2008 by Sandra J. Wing, a double cancer survivor, the Foundation’s mission is to provide Tri-Valley cancer patients, during their treatment period, with financial assistance for healing services that complement traditional cancer treatment but that typically are not covered by insurance. The five healing therapies funded by foundation grants are Acupuncture, Acupressure, Therapeutic Massage, Guided/Visual Imagery, and Deep Breathing Meditation. These therapies have been proven in many scientific studies to be beneficial in providing relief for neuropathy, anxiety, stress, aches, fatigue, nausea, and pain.
