United World Schools (UWS) is dedicated to improving the educational opportunities of children living in some of the most remote and marginalized communities around the world. By providing children with a basic education, we are striking at the heart of long term poverty and deprivation – a long game but one we are tackling head on and with ambition and commitment. UWS provides a flexible education model that is simple yet effective in remote regions. The model follows the national curriculum of the host country, while supporting teachers to implement educational programs that are appropriate for the contexts in which they are working.

We are an ambitious and expanding management body headquartered between Washington, DC and London, UK dedicated to teaching the unreached wherever in the world a child needs a classroom. All of our staff are deeply passionate about what they do and are committed to going above and beyond to ensure every child has access to basic education.

The UWS' US Board is Chaired by OCC Founder Chris Outram. Founding Board members include global communications leader and former AIG Chief Communications Officer Cindy Leggett-Flynn; noted entrepreneur and longtime UWS donor Philippe Delouvrier; renowned author and screenwriter Jennifer Hamm; former attorney, non-profit CEO, and Obama Administration Deputy Under Secretary of Energy David Klaus; and President and CEO of Grandview Advisors and former Managing Director of BritishAmerican Business (BABi), Wendy Mendenhall, MBE.  The founding Executive Director is Greg Houston, a global development expert with more than 20 years experience across six continents and dozens of countries.
