The organization Instituto de Oceanología (Institute of Oceanology), also called IdO, is a non profit based in Playa Potrero, province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
IdO's mission is to contribute to the protection of the coastal and marine environment and develop an overall 'culture of the Ocean', in collaboration with the local community.
- environmental education, including participation to events about ocean conservation, organization of workshops and field trips for the national and foreign students, etc.
- environmental initiatives like clean-up of beaches, mangroves and rivers, creation of educational trails, reforestation
