One Acre Cafe, Inc

One Acre Cafe is a non-profit café established to help feed the hungry in our community. Our mission is to nourish the body, replenish the spirit and grow the community so that all may be fed. We served our first meals for Thanksgiving of 2013.

The café is based on six basic concepts which were developed by a foundation called “One World Everybody Eats” in 2003. 

·       Patrons may volunteer in exchange for a meal

·       Portion size options are available – to lessen the cost and reduce food waste.

·       Healthy, Seasonal food is served whenever available

·       Pay-what-you-can suggested pricing structure

·       Community Tables are offered

·       Volunteers are used to the maximum extent possible to staff the organization.

One Acre Café only has 5 to 6 paid staff members and operates with 95% volunteerism.

At this café, we are “being intentional” about being in community with others.

We work hard to make everyone feel this is their café. Whether they are a business leader in the community or one of our homeless friends, they are treated equally and with love.
