Courage Campaign: CTA

Chicago, IL

Sobre Nós

In fall 2014, Kara Crutcher started a campaign against street and sexual harassment on the CTA. We're called the Courage Campaign: CTA, and we are currently raising money to create, print and post CTA ads that discourage harassment and advocate respect for all using public transit. We have been working with a ton of social justice groups throughout the city, and have made a heap of progress in the short months since the campaign has started.

The entire basis of the campaign is media and marketing. Learning how to market a message and producing an ad that people can respond to. We have people of all races, genders, and sexual orientations working on the campaign, and are very excited to keep it going! Thus far, we've worked with organizations such as Alternatives Inc, A Long Walk Home, Hollaback!, The Silver Room, The Scarlet 'S', FURIE, Obvi We're the Ladies and many more. One of our strongest partnerships is with Alternatives, and every other week we work with a group of teenage girls to learn about these issues, discuss them as a group, and evaluate ways in which we can be proactive about them.

This summer, we will continue to raise funds and promote the campaign through a variety of rallies, marches, street fairs and events!

If you are interested in learning more about the campaign, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at ctacouragecampaign@gmail.com
