The idea for Health Education on Wheels began with the loss of William Addo's brother to type 2 diabetes. Mr. Addo, the current Chairman of the Board, vowed to bring awareness to his community about the dangers of this preventable disease so that others may not have to suffer such a devastating and unnecessary loss. Kenrick Everett, the current Executive Director, is a direct beneficiary of Mr. Addo's commitment to community, as he was introduced to HEOW as a participant of HEOW's diabetes prevention program. Kenrick now maintains that same passion and commitment to continue bringing the same health education that he benefited from to others. HEOW is now stronger than ever, and we are fully committed to serve as many New Yorkers as possible.
