Dance Films Association, Inc. (DFA), A is dedicated to furthering the art of dance film. Connecting artists and organizations, fostering new works for new audiences, and sharing essential resources, DFA seeks to be a catalyst for innovation in and preservation of dance on camera. A non-profit, tax-exempt, member-supported service organization founded in 1956, DFA produces its annual internationally touring Dance on Camera Festival co-sponsored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center since 1996, Dance Film Lab co-sponsored by Dance Theatre Workshop, Dance on Camera Journal, post-production grants, Young Choreographers initiative, and workshops. Its many partners help to bring its touring programs to a wide public.
