Sudbury Extended Day was founded more than four decades ago by Sudbury families seeking reliable, high-quality extended day care within their local schools. That founding purpose continues to guide our work today. As a nonprofit organization governed by a parent-led Board of Directors, SED remains focused on providing a safe, enriching, accessible, community-focused, and empowering extended day environment where children can grow and explore, build friendships, develop independence, and feel a strong sense of belonging beyond the school day. SED’s extended day model is intentionally designed to complement Sudbury Public Schools’ mission and vision by fostering environments where students develop independence, creativity, empathy, and a strong sense of community beyond the academic day.
