University Settlement -Employment and Training

University Settlement Recreation Centre is a registered non-profit organization, and a multi-service agency serving the social, educational, recreational and cultural needs of people living and working in the West Central Downtown Toronto community. The Settlement provides employment information, training and counseling assistance to immigrants and, newcomers including settlement issues, translation and interpretation, English as a Second Language, citizenship classes, licensed child care recreation for all ages, as well as, Day Camp during March, Christmas and Summer Breaks.

The Employment and Training Dept. is a resource centre which provides pre-employment assessment, jobsearch resources and tools, skills training, counseling and volunteer opportunities. Our department has been successful in assisting many people to obtain employment as well as helping employers find qualified candidates. Our job development team focuses on professionalism, quality services and advanced computer technology to guide job seekers and their potential employers to meet employee needs and create good job matches.
